“You shall not murder.” “殺してはならない。”
The Sixth Commandment prohibits all forms of unlawful killing. Some people, failing to consider the full teaching of the Bible, believe that it prohibits all killing. However, it does not prohibit eating meat, the death penalty, self defense, or military service. It does prohibit murder, and it even prohibits hatred, which gives birth to murder. It makes us remember Christ, who died so that murderers like us could go free.

The Fifth Commandment is a commandment that affects all of human society. Children learn to respect and obey authority figures at home with their parents. If they fail to learn this useful skill at home, all of society will suffer. It is essential for children to treat their parents with respect. They should speak to them in a respectful manner, act respectfully, speak respectfully, and even think of their parents respectfully. They should obey their parents in everything, except if their parents tell them to do something that is against God’s law. Parents have great responsibility also. They must teach their children to be respectful and to obey, and they must teach their children everything that the children need to know about God’s law and about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
